How to Add Skip Logic and Piping to Your Survey (and Show One Question at a Time)

Skip logic sends each respondent past the questions that don’t apply to them, and piping puts an earlier answer into a later question. Both added to a short survey in SurveyRock, switched to one question at a time, and walked through in the preview.

Ask only what applies, and use what people have already told you. Here's skip logic, piping and the two survey formats in SurveyRock.

Start with skip logic. Open a question's settings, and under Behavior, choose Skip logic. Then pick where each answer goes. Here, anyone who hasn't contacted support skips the support rating and goes straight to the last question.

Piping puts an earlier answer into a later question. Click into the title, press the token button, and under Previous Answers, pick the product question. Then save the title.

Then choose a format. Standard puts several questions on a page. Pageless shows one at a time, and moves on by itself after a single-choice answer.

Preview it. Pick the mobile app, answer no, and the support rating is skipped. The last question names the product they chose. This is SurveyRock — start free at surveyrock.com.

The survey data shown in this video is a demo account's, not a customer's.
