AI in SurveyRock — what it does, and what it never does
AI in SurveyRock drafts surveys, analyzes open-text responses, and automates follow-through — always under your review, never trained on your data. This page explains exactly how it works, because "trust us" isn't an answer procurement should accept.
What AI does in SurveyRock
- AI-assisted survey creation
- Describe what you want to learn and SurveyRock drafts questions, answer choices, and survey logic. Every generation is presented for your review — you accept, edit, or discard it. Output adapts to your configured tone, industry, and language.
- Open-text analysis
- Theme detection and sentiment analysis read every open-text response and surface what respondents are saying — across thousands of answers, not a sample.
- Executive summaries and insights
- Generate stakeholder-ready summaries of survey results, plus dashboard and per-respondent insights. Ask analytical questions of your results — aggregate, trends, comparisons — in plain language.
- Natural-language workflow builder
- Describe an automation — "post detractor responses to Slack with their comments" — and SurveyRock builds the workflow. AI steps can run theme detection and summaries inside automations.
The commitments behind the features
- Your data doesn't train our models
- SurveyRock does not use your survey response data to train AI models — ours or anyone else's. Your respondents' answers are processed to deliver the feature you invoked, and that's all.
- You're always in the loop
- AI-generated surveys, questions, and summaries are drafts for your review — nothing AI produces is shown to your respondents or stakeholders without a human accepting it.
- AI is optional
- Every core function — building, distributing, collecting, reporting — works without AI. AI features only run when you invoke them; nothing is processed by AI automatically.
- AI never gates your data
- If an AI provider has an outage, survey delivery, response collection, and exports are unaffected. AI features pause; your data collection doesn't.
What happens to your data, precisely
When you invoke an AI feature, the relevant data — a survey draft, a set of open-text responses — is sent to an AI model to produce the result, logged for billing and reliability purposes, and retained per our standard retention policy. It is not used to train models, not sold, and not shared beyond the providers needed to deliver the feature. AI usage is metered through a credit system with per-plan allowances; usage detail is available on request.
Direct questions, direct answers
