See what moved since last time, without rebuilding the last report
Put your NPS, rating and choice results beside last month, last quarter, the last send or last year's survey, with the change and, on Growth, a test that says whether it could be chance. The quarterly "what moved?" question, answered on the dashboard you already use.
New accounts start with a 14-day trial of Growth, every comparison included.

Stop pasting two exports side by side
Every quarterly NPS review and every engagement survey ends with the same question: what moved since last time? Most teams answer it by exporting two periods, lining them up in a spreadsheet and arguing about whether a three-point drop means anything. In SurveyRock you pick what to compare with, and each NPS, rating and choice card shows the earlier figure and the change, and on Growth whether it could be chance. Your filters still apply, so the same view works for one team, one region or one customer segment.
Period-over-period comparison
This month against last month, card by card
Choose the previous week, month, quarter or, for recurring campaigns, the previous send. NPS, rating, single-answer grid and choice questions each get a panel with both figures and the change. A period still running is marked "(so far)", and a period with too few answers is labelled a small sample.
Wave comparison across surveys
This year's survey against last year's
When each wave is its own survey, compare with up to 11 earlier ones. Questions match automatically when a survey was copied from the last one (copies made since 29 October 2026) or asks the same question in the same words, and you can match the rest by hand once, for everyone. Different scales and different answer options are flagged, not blended.
Significance testing on the change
Know whether a change could be chance
Where each person gives one answer, the change is tested with a chi-squared test and labelled "Unlikely to be chance" or "Could be chance", with the p-value. Open the series to see up to 12 periods. A question that was edited between the periods says so, and one whose answer options changed isn't tested, because the two periods answered different questions.
New and growing comment themes
Hear what people started saying
For open-text questions with AI themes, a Themes panel lists themes that are new since the last period and themes whose share grew by more than chance, such as "Workload 15% → 50%". Counting them uses no AI credits.
Dimension scores and team trends
Any team's trend, one filter away
Surveys with dimensions get a Dimensions panel with each dimension's score in both periods. Filter to a team and it's that team's trend. On anonymous surveys every period has to meet the minimum group size on its own, and a period below it shows Withheld, never 0.
AI summary of the changes
The readout, drafted for you
Summarise the changes writes a few sentences on what moved most, with both figures, and flags what not to over-read: small samples, changes that could be chance, edited questions. It uses only the comparison's figures, never what respondents wrote, it's told not to guess at causes, and any sentence with a figure the comparison doesn't contain is removed. 10 AI credits.
How it works
From "what moved?" to an answer you can share
1
Open Compare with
On the results dashboard, choose the previous week, month, quarter or send, or another survey.
2
Read the cards
Each comparable card shows the earlier figure, the change and, on Growth, the test. Open the series for the longer trend.
3
Narrow it down
Filter by team, region or segment and every period follows. Check what's new in the comments.
4
Share it
Download the comparison as a CSV, put it in the PDF report, or have AI draft the summary.
Weeks start on Monday; months and quarters are calendar months and quarters. A send runs from the day a recurring campaign sent to the day before the next one. A response counts in the period it was started, and the latest period is the latest one with answers, so a quarterly pulse with nothing yet this quarter compares its last two quarters that have answers.
What if we changed a question between waves?
The card says so, with the date. A wording change is still compared and tested, so you can read it knowing the question changed. Changed answer options or settings are shown but not tested.
Does it work with weighting?
Weighted results are compared when every survey in the comparison is weighted. The significance test isn't run on weighted results.
Can I see response rates for each send?
Yes. When you compare sends, the line under Compare with gives each send's response rate, such as "Response rate: 62% → 48%".
Is it in the PDF?
Yes. With a comparison on, the dashboard's PDF report includes the two latest periods or surveys under each card and, on Growth, the dimensions table and new and growing themes. The CSV holds the full series.
Which plans include it?
Comparing periods is on Team and up. Comparing with other surveys, the 12-period series, the significance test, the CSV, comment themes, dimensions and the AI summary are on Growth and up. New accounts start with a 14-day trial of Growth.
