For researchers and insight teams

The research toolkit, without the enterprise contract.

Quota management, response weighting, crosstabs with significance testing and SPSS export, at published prices: crosstabs and SPSS from $179 a month, weighting from $349. Built for independent researchers and insight teams who need the working methods, not a platform.

Most of a working study is the same short list: hold the sample to its quotas, weight it back to the population, cross-tabulate by the segments that matter, test whether the differences are real, and hand clean data to your stats package. You do not need a platform built for a whole research department to do that.

SurveyRock does that list, and says plainly where it stops.

What a study actually needs

Quotas that close cells for you

Set a limit on the whole survey or on answer-based cells, such as age band by region, picked from the question that defines them. Respondents who arrive after a cell fills see a quota-filled page, and your own preview responses never count against a quota.

Weighting you can inspect

On Pro, build weighting schemes on the variables you choose, cap and floor the weights with re-normalisation, read the diagnostics, and decide how respondents who cannot be weighted are handled. Crosstabs then report weighted counts.

Crosstabs with a significance test

From Growth, cross up to three banner variables with row, column and total percentages. Each table is tested for significance: a chi-squared test of independence with its p-value, or a bootstrap version when a question allows several answers, with the test named on the page. Small cells are withheld rather than printed as a misleading percentage.

Your data, in the format your stats package reads

Export SPSS .sav files with variable labels, value labels and measurement levels from Growth. CSV and Excel export is on every plan.

Design controls the method needs

Randomize questions, answer choices, matrix statements and whole page blocks. The shuffle is seeded and stored per respondent, so a respondent who resumes sees the same order. Matrix and rank-order questions are built in. Save and resume and duplicate-respondent detection start on Team at $79; anonymous responses are on every plan.

Open-text answers, read for you

From Growth, SurveyRock groups open-text answers into themes with sentiment, and key driver analysis shows which answers move together with the outcome you choose. It describes association, not cause.

How a study runs here

  1. Build the instrument and its quotas.

Add the questions, randomize what the method says to randomize, and set quota cells on the questions that define your sample.

  2. Field, then weight.

Collect against the quotas. When the achieved sample is off the population, apply a weighting scheme on Pro and read its diagnostics before you trust it.

  3. Cross-tabulate and take it to your stats package.

Run significance-tested crosstabs on Growth, then export SPSS .sav with labels intact, or CSV and Excel for anything else.

Where SurveyRock stops

Conjoint and MaxDiff

Neither is built. If your study is a conjoint or a MaxDiff exercise, SurveyRock is the wrong tool today.

A respondent panel

We do not sell or broker panel sample. You bring your own respondents: a list, a link, or a panel vendor you already use.

A full statistics suite

The only significance test is chi-squared on crosstabs. There are no t-tests, regression or TURF; export to SPSS, R or similar for those.

Run your next study on methods you can inspect.

Start on the free plan to build the instrument and test the flow, then move to Growth for crosstabs and SPSS export, or Pro for weighting.

Questions

Which plan do I need for quotas, crosstabs, weighting and SPSS export?

Crosstabs and SPSS export start on Growth at $179 a month. Response weighting starts on Pro at $349 a month. Quota management has no plan restriction. The pricing page has the full comparison.

What statistical tests does SurveyRock run?

A chi-squared test of independence on crosstabs, with the p-value, degrees of freedom and a significance flag. For a table with a multiple-answer question it uses a bootstrap version of the test and says so on the page. There are no t-tests, regression or TURF. Key driver analysis ranks which answers move with an outcome; it is not a significance test.

Can I run conjoint or MaxDiff?

No. Neither is built. MaxDiff exists only as a planned setting with no question type behind it, so do not plan a study around it.

Does SurveyRock supply respondents?

No. There is no panel or sample marketplace. You send the survey to your own list, share a link, or point a panel vendor at it.

Does the answer order stay the same if a respondent comes back later?

Yes. The randomization seed is stored per respondent, so resuming a saved response never reshuffles it. Save and resume starts on Team.

Can I try it without paying?

Yes. The Free plan includes 100 responses a month and three surveys of up to ten questions each. Crosstabs, SPSS export and weighting are on paid plans.

How does this compare with Qualtrics?

The dated, sourced comparison, including where Qualtrics is the better choice, is on its own page. Read SurveyRock vs Qualtrics.
