How Many Survey Responses Do You Need? (Free Sample Size Calculator)
For a large population, 385 completed responses from a random sample give at most a 5% margin of error at 95% confidence. Worked out on the free sample size calculator, turned into people to invite, adjusted for a smaller population, and what the number does not cover.

How many responses does your survey need? Three things decide it: how sure you want to be, how close, and how many people could answer.
Leave the population blank if it's large or unknown. At 95 percent confidence and a five percent margin of error, you need 385 completed responses.
Add the response rate you expect, and it turns the 385 into people to invite. At 30 percent, that's about 1,284.
If only a thousand people could answer, a correction brings it down to 278.
One catch: the margin assumes a random sample. A link anyone can click has no true margin of error, and a small subgroup has a wider one. This is SurveyRock — start free at surveyrock.com.
