Accessibility Statement
Document status: Approved v1.0 (2026-07-21) Effective date: 2026-07-21
Our commitment
Oak Mountain Digital LLC (“SurveyRock”) is committed to making the Service accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability. We aim to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative.
Accessibility matters to us because:
- People with disabilities deserve the same access to feedback and research tools as anyone else
- Enterprise customers increasingly require accessibility commitments (Section 508, EN 301 549, AODA)
- Designing for accessibility makes the Service better for everyone (clearer navigation, better mobile experience, faster keyboard workflows)
What we cover
This statement applies to:
- The marketing website at www.surveyrock.com
- The SurveyRock application at app.surveyrock.com
- The help center at www.surveyrock.com/support/
Surveys created by Customers using SurveyRock — both the survey design tool and the respondent-facing survey delivery — are designed to support accessible responses. We provide accessibility features that Customers can use; Customers are responsible for designing surveys whose content is accessible (clear language, appropriate alt text on images they upload, etc.).
Current conformance status
The Service is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are actively working toward full conformance and addressing known gaps. Specific known gaps are listed in the “Known issues” section below.
Accessibility features
The Service includes:
Keyboard navigation
- All interactive elements are reachable via keyboard
- Focus indicators are visible and meet contrast requirements
- Skip-to-content links on every page
- Logical tab order throughout
Screen reader support
- Semantic HTML structure (proper headings, landmarks, lists)
- ARIA labels for icon-only buttons and complex interactions
- Form fields paired with descriptive labels
- Status messages announced via ARIA live regions
Visual design
- Text and background colors meet WCAG AA contrast requirements (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text)
- Content reflows for zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling
- Focus indicators are high-contrast and clearly visible
- Information is not conveyed by color alone
- Dark mode and light mode both meet contrast requirements
Forms and surveys
- Field labels are programmatically associated with inputs
- Error messages are clear, specific, and announced to assistive technology
- Required fields are clearly marked (visually and to assistive technology)
- Input formats and constraints are communicated upfront
Survey delivery to respondents
When you distribute a survey, the respondent experience includes:
- Keyboard navigation through all question types
- Screen reader compatibility on all standard question types (text, multiple choice, matrix, rating, ranking)
- Adjustable font size via browser controls
- Skip-question support where logically permitted by your survey design
Mobile and touch
- Touch targets meet WCAG minimum size requirements (24x24 pixels, 44x44 for primary actions)
- Gestures have alternative interaction patterns where possible
- Mobile screen readers (VoiceOver iOS, TalkBack Android) are supported
Known issues
We are aware of the following accessibility gaps and are actively addressing them:
- Complex survey logic visualization currently relies on color and may be difficult for users with color blindness; we are adding pattern differentiation in Q3 2026
- Some chart types in reports use color encoding without alternative text representation; we are adding data table alternatives by Q4 2026
- Drag-and-drop reordering of questions has limited keyboard support; we are adding a keyboard alternative in 2026
We commit to:
- Documenting newly discovered accessibility gaps within 30 days of identification
- Prioritizing accessibility fixes based on user impact
- Reviewing and updating this list quarterly
How we ensure ongoing accessibility
- Automated testing —
eslint-plugin-jsx-a11yand axe-core run on every code change; deploys are blocked on critical violations - Manual testing — periodic testing with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
- User feedback — accessibility issues reported by users are prioritized in our improvement queue
- Design system — components are built once with accessibility in mind, ensuring consistency across the Service
Standards we follow
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (primary standard)
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 — for ARIA patterns
- Section 508 (US federal) — substantially conformant
- EN 301 549 (EU) — substantially conformant
- AODA (Ontario, Canada) — substantially conformant for Customers serving Ontario
Customer responsibilities for accessible surveys
While SurveyRock provides accessible building blocks, accessible surveys also require Customer-controlled inputs:
- Use clear, plain language in questions
- Provide alt text for any images you upload
- Avoid color-only meaning (don’t write “click the green button to continue”)
- Test your own surveys before distributing, including with a screen reader
- Provide captions or transcripts for any audio or video content in your surveys
- Consider Respondent diversity in your design
Feedback and complaints
If you encounter an accessibility issue or have suggestions for improvement:
- Email: support@surveyrock.com
- Subject line: “Accessibility feedback”
- Include: the URL or feature, your assistive technology (if applicable), and a description of the issue
We aim to acknowledge accessibility issues within 5 business days and to fix critical accessibility issues within 30 days where technically feasible.
