The best SurveyMonkey alternative depends on why you’re leaving. If it’s the price of removing branding, look at SurveyRock. If you want one-question-at-a-time forms, look at Typeform. If you need to take payments, look at Jotform. If you want free and simple, Google Forms is hard to beat. For conjoint or recruited panels, look at Qualtrics.
We make SurveyRock, so it’s first on this list. We’ve used the same format for every tool, including ours, with the catch for each.

1. SurveyRock
Best for: teams that want platform branding gone without a large plan, and analysis of open-text answers.
Solo is $35 a month or $350 a year, with 2,500 responses a month, skip logic and no SurveyRock branding. Your own logo and colors start at Team, $79 a month or $790 a year, which has no seat minimum. You can pay monthly on any self-serve paid plan. From Growth at $179 a month, theme detection groups open-text answers, and AI drafts an executive summary. New accounts get 14 days of Growth with no credit card.
The catch: no phone support, no click maps and no A/B tests of the survey itself. The Free plan has no skip logic or email invitations. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO certification today; both are on our roadmap.

2. Typeform
Best for: forms where the feel of answering matters, shown one question at a time.
Basic is $39 a month or $327 a year for 100 responses a month. Plus is $79 a month or $663 a year for 1,000 responses and removes Typeform’s branding. Business is $129 a month or $1,083 a year for 10,000 responses.
The catch: response limits are low for the price, so high-volume surveys get expensive. See how it compares, or compare six Typeform alternatives.
3. Jotform
Best for: forms that do more than ask questions, such as taking payments or collecting signed documents.
The free Starter plan gives you 100 submissions a month across 5 forms, with Jotform’s branding. Bronze is $39 a month or $408 a year at list price, with 1,000 submissions a month, and removes the branding. Check its pricing page for any current offer.
The catch: it’s a form builder first. Its ranking question is a separate widget, not a core field. See how it compares, or compare seven Jotform alternatives.
4. Google Forms
Best for: quick, simple surveys when free matters most.
Google Forms is free, and each form can take up to 500,000 responses. It’s the natural choice if everyone already has a Google account.
The catch: branching works only at section level, from multiple choice or dropdown questions. There’s no ranking question, and we found no setting in Google’s documentation to remove its footer. See how it compares.
5. Qualtrics
Best for: research teams that need conjoint, MaxDiff and advanced statistics.
Its pricing pages list one paid price: Strategic Research online, $5,040 a year billed annually for 1,000 responses shared across unlimited users. Everything larger is by quote.
The catch: the cost, and the sales process above 1,000 responses. See our breakdown of Qualtrics pricing, or compare seven Qualtrics alternatives.
6. SurveySparrow
Best for: CX teams that want chat-style surveys and a separate CX suite.
The free plan gives you 75 responses a quarter, 3 active surveys and 10 questions per survey. Basic is $19 a month billed yearly, or $228 a year, for 2,500 responses a year. Paid plans are billed quarterly or yearly, with no monthly option. Custom branding starts at the Business plan, $948 a year billed yearly.
The catch: its CX Suite is a separate product, priced by quote. See how it compares, or compare six SurveySparrow alternatives.
7. QuestionPro
Best for: research teams that want many question types and published per-user prices.
The free plan allows 200 responses per survey for one user. Advanced is $99 per user a month, billed annually, with 25,000 responses a year and 38 question types. Team Edition is $83 per user a month for 5 or more users, with 100,000 responses a year.
The catch: the published prices are per user and billed annually, so a team’s bill adds up. Its help page says the “Powered by QuestionPro” footer stays on Advanced and above, and its Research Suite is priced through sales.
How to choose
Start with the reason you’re leaving, then test one or two tools on a real survey.
- Paying too much to remove branding: SurveyRock Solo or Jotform Bronze. For your own logo and colors on SurveyRock, Team.
- Need cheaper monthly billing: SurveyRock ($35), Typeform or Jotform ($39). SurveyMonkey’s only monthly plan is $149.
- Need payments on a form: Jotform. SurveyRock doesn’t collect payments.
- Need it free: Google Forms, or a free plan elsewhere if its limits fit.
- Need conjoint or panels: Qualtrics, or QuestionPro’s Research Suite.
Before you switch
Export first. SurveyMonkey’s help center says you can’t export after you downgrade, and turning off auto-renew moves you to the free plan at the end of your billing cycle.
Each tool imports differently, so test a small file before you cancel. SurveyRock imports responses from a CSV or Excel file into a survey you’ve already built, and questions from a Word or text file.
