The best Qualtrics alternative depends on which part of Qualtrics you use. For customer, employee and research surveys at published prices, look at SurveyRock. For a familiar survey tool with a built-in panel, look at SurveyMonkey. For conjoint without a sales call, look at Alchemer or Conjointly. For a company-wide CX program, look at Medallia. For employee engagement, look at Culture Amp.
We make SurveyRock, so it’s first on this list. We’ve used the same format for every tool, including ours, with the catch for each.

Prices are US list prices in US dollars, checked on 2 November 2026 unless the note at the end says otherwise. For comparison, Qualtrics lists one paid price: Strategic Research online, $5,040 a year billed annually, for 1,000 responses shared across unlimited users. Everything larger is by quote.
Two terms you’ll see below. Conjoint works out which product features people value by having them choose between versions of a product. MaxDiff asks people to pick the most and least important items from short lists.
When to stay on Qualtrics
Stay if your work depends on what it offers in one place: conjoint alongside 20+ guided research solutions, recruited panels, 70+ survey languages, or a long list of certifications. Qualtrics lists a SOC 2 Type II report, ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, and FedRAMP authorization, a US government security standard. Self-service accounts can’t use its FedRAMP environment, so that one needs a custom plan.
1. SurveyRock
Best for: teams running customer, employee and research surveys who want a published price and no sales process.
Growth is $179 a month or $1,790 a year, with 50,000 responses a month and 10 staff seats. It adds theme detection, drafted executive summaries, key driver analysis, crosstabs, SPSS export and MaxDiff. Pro is $349 a month or $3,490 a year, with 100,000 responses a month, 25 staff seats, response weighting and single sign-on. Smaller plans start at $35 a month, and you can pay monthly on any self-serve plan. New accounts get 14 days of Growth with no credit card.
The catch: no conjoint and no recruited panels. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO certification today; both are on our roadmap.

2. SurveyMonkey
Best for: teams that want a familiar survey tool, with respondents available in the same product.
Paid plans start at $468 a year, or $149 a month if you need monthly billing. SurveyMonkey Audience is its built-in panel, with responses starting at $1 each. Enterprise is sold through a demo, for 5 or more users.
The catch: removing its branding starts at $1,668 a year, and going over your limit costs $0.15 a response. See every SurveyMonkey plan and what it really costs.
3. QuestionPro
Best for: research teams that want many question types and published per-user prices.
Advanced is $99 per user a month, billed annually, with 25,000 responses a year and 38 question types. Team Edition is $83 per user a month for 5 or more users, with 100,000 responses a year. Its Research Suite adds conjoint, MaxDiff and A/B testing, and its Audience panel lists 22+ million respondents, both through sales.
The catch: the published prices are per user and billed annually, so a team’s bill adds up. The methods closest to Qualtrics are in the Research Suite, which has no published price.
4. Alchemer
Best for: teams that want conjoint and MaxDiff at a published price.
Full Access is $275 per user a month or $1,895 per user a year, with 125,000 responses a year, within monthly limits, and market research questions, including conjoint. Three Full Access users cost $5,685 a year. Professional is $165 per user a month or $1,075 per user a year. Collaborator is $55 per user a month or $315 per user a year. It also sells panel services.
The catch: its pricing page lists no free plan, only a 7-day trial of Professional. Self-serve plans stop at 3 users, and more than that means a quoted Business Platform plan.
5. Conjointly
Best for: teams whose main need is conjoint and pricing research.
The Basic tier is free, with no limit on surveys, questions or team members, but conjoint, MaxDiff and other advanced methods are capped at 20 responses. Professional is $2,895 per team a year and lifts that cap. Ultimate starts at $10,000 a year. Panel responses can be bought from Conjointly.
The catch: real studies need Professional, which is paid yearly by credit card.
6. Medallia
Best for: large organizations running experience programs across many channels.
Medallia prices by Experience Data Record, not by survey response or user. An EDR covers the data from one interaction between a company and a customer or employee, and the price includes analytics and workflows on that data.
The catch: no published price, so you start with its sales team. Its pricing page describes a model built for enterprise scale.
7. Culture Amp
Best for: people teams running employee engagement and performance programs.
Culture Amp sells Engage for engagement surveys and Perform for performance management, with benchmarks. Pricing depends on employee count, product and service tier, and products are billed annually.
The catch: it’s employee-focused, so it won’t replace Qualtrics for customer or market research. Its pricing page lists no free plan or price. See how it compares.
How to choose
Start with the Qualtrics features you really use, then test one or two tools on a real survey.
- NPS, CSAT, employee pulse and product research: SurveyRock, at published prices.
- Conjoint without a sales call: Alchemer Full Access or Conjointly Professional. SurveyRock has MaxDiff from Growth, but not conjoint.
- Recruited respondents: SurveyMonkey Audience, or QuestionPro, Alchemer or Conjointly.
- Company-wide CX: Medallia. Expect a sales process.
- Employee engagement with benchmarks: Culture Amp.
- FedRAMP: stay on Qualtrics, on a custom plan.
Before you switch
Export your responses from Qualtrics as CSV or Excel first. A free Qualtrics account is deleted after 13 months of inactivity, so don’t leave it late.
Qualtrics’ .qsf survey file is made for another Qualtrics account, so check that any new tool can read it. SurveyRock doesn’t. You can rebuild the survey from a template, or import your questions from a Word or text file, then import responses from a CSV or Excel file. We haven’t tested Qualtrics’ own export files with those imports, so check the preview.

What is the best free alternative to Qualtrics?
It depends on the work. Conjointly’s Basic tier has no limit on surveys, questions or team members, and caps conjoint and other advanced methods at 20 responses. For simple surveys, compare the free plans above. Qualtrics’ own free account allows 500 responses in total.

Who are Qualtrics’ main competitors?
For CX programs, Medallia. For research, QuestionPro, Alchemer and SurveyMonkey. For employee programs, Culture Amp.

Facts checked on each tool’s own pages on 2 November 2026, in US dollars. Qualtrics’ export and free-account details are from a check on 30 September 2026. SurveyMonkey shows prices by visitor country, so its US plan prices are from a check on 24 September 2026. If we’ve got something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.
