The best Jotform alternative depends on what you use it for. If you run surveys, look at SurveyRock. For higher free limits, try Tally or Fillout. For a lower list price on a paid plan, try Cognito Forms. If the feel of answering matters most, try Typeform. If you need forms, documents and signatures together, look at Formstack.
If you take payments or collect signed documents, you may not need to move at all. We make SurveyRock, so it’s first on this list, and we’ve used the same format for every tool, including ours, with the catch for each.

Prices are US list prices in US dollars, checked on 2 November 2026. For comparison, Jotform’s free Starter plan gives you 100 submissions a month across 5 forms, and Bronze is $39 a month or $408 a year at list price, with 1,000 submissions a month and 25 forms.
When to stay on Jotform
Jotform includes payment fields on every plan, with 10 payment submissions a month on the free plan. It’s also a general form builder with Card Forms, so if you run sign-ups, orders and requests alongside the odd survey, it’s a good tool to stay on. Check its pricing page for any current offer before you compare.
Where Jotform runs out
Two reasons to move:
- Survey questions. Jotform’s ranking question is a separate widget, not a core field.
- Limits. Bronze allows 25 forms and 1,000 submissions a month, and Tally, Fillout and SurveyRock Solo all go further in at least one of those.
1. SurveyRock
Best for: teams whose forms are really surveys.
Ranking, matrix and constant-sum questions are native question types. Solo is $35 a month or $350 a year, with 2,500 responses a month, skip logic and no SurveyRock branding. Your own logo and colors start at Team, $79 a month or $790 a year. From Growth at $179 a month, theme detection groups open-text answers, AI drafts an executive summary, and key driver analysis ranks which questions move most closely with your score. New accounts get 14 days of Growth with no credit card.
The catch: SurveyRock doesn’t collect payments or signatures, and it’s not a general form builder. The Free plan has no logic and caps surveys at 10 questions. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO certification today; both are on our roadmap.

2. Tally
Best for: people who want a free form builder with logic and payments.
Tally’s free plan offers unlimited forms and submissions within its fair usage guidelines, with conditional logic, payments and file uploads. Pro is $29 a month or $290 a year, removes Tally’s branding and adds team workspaces and custom domains.
The catch: check its fair usage guidelines if you expect high volume. It’s a form builder, so survey analysis isn’t the focus.
3. Fillout
Best for: forms that need a high response limit without a paid plan.
Fillout’s free plan gives you 1,000 responses a month, unlimited forms and unlimited seats, with conditional logic and payment collection. Starter is $15 a month billed yearly. Pro is $40 a month billed yearly, for 5,000 responses a month, and removes all branding.
The catch: branding only goes at Pro, and form analytics start at Business, $75 a month billed yearly.
4. Cognito Forms
Best for: forms with payments and signatures, at a lower list price.
Cognito Forms’ free plan gives you 100 entries a month for 1 user, and payments are available. Pro is $24 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly, with 2,000 entries a month, 2 users, electronic signatures and no branding. Team is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, with 10,000 entries a month, 5 users and workflow tools.
The catch: the free plan can’t add users, and extra users on paid plans are $5 each a month. It’s a form builder, so survey analysis isn’t the focus.
5. Typeform
Best for: forms where the feel of answering matters, shown one question at a time.
Basic is $39 a month or $327 a year for 100 responses a month. Plus is $79 a month or $663 a year for 1,000 responses and removes Typeform’s branding.
The catch: coming from Jotform, response limits are the big change. Basic includes a tenth of what Bronze does, though you can pay for more, and its free plan takes 10 responses a month. Compare six Typeform alternatives, or see how it compares.
6. Google Forms
Best for: quick, simple forms when free matters most.
Google Forms is free, and each form can take up to 500,000 responses and 1 GB of storage. It’s a natural choice if your team already works in Google.
The catch: branching works only at section level, from multiple choice or dropdown questions. There’s no ranking question, and we found no setting in Google’s documentation to remove its footer. Compare six Google Forms alternatives.
7. Formstack
Best for: teams that want forms, documents and signatures from one vendor.
Formstack Forms starts at $99 a month, or $83 a month paid annually, with 1 builder user, 25 forms and 1,000 submissions per form. Suite starts at $299 a month, or $250 a month paid annually, and adds documents and unlimited eSignatures.
The catch: there’s no free plan on its pricing page, only a 14-day trial, and the entry price is well above Jotform Bronze.

Before you switch
Download your submissions from Jotform Tables as a CSV or Excel file first. Each tool imports differently, so test a small file. SurveyRock imports responses from a CSV or Excel file into a survey you’ve already built, and questions from a Word or text file. It doesn’t import a Jotform form directly.
