Build a survey, share it and read the answers, by asking Claude

SurveyRock Team · · 4 min read

You can now add SurveyRock to Claude. Then you can ask Claude, in your own words, to build a survey, publish it, give you the link and tell you what people said. Claude does the work in your SurveyRock account. There’s no code to write and no key to copy.

What it looks like

We tried it on our own account on October 13, in Claude on the web.

We asked for a customer satisfaction survey in one sentence:

Create a 3-question customer satisfaction survey: an NPS question, a 1–5 rating, and an open comment box.

Claude built the survey in SurveyRock with three questions:

  1. An NPS question, on the usual 0 to 10 scale
  2. A rating from 1 to 5
  3. An open box for comments

Then we asked it to publish the survey and share it. It gave us a link. A response came in. We asked Claude what people said, and it read the answer back to us.

All of that happened in one chat. Afterwards we opened the survey in SurveyRock to check. The questions came out right. Do the same with yours: look a survey over before you send it, as you would if a colleague built it.

How to add it

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Paste this address: https://app.surveyrock.com/mcp
  4. Click Connect, and sign in to SurveyRock.
  5. Pick the workspace Claude should work in, then click Allow.

SurveyRock isn’t in Claude’s connector directory yet, so you add it yourself with the address above. If you don’t see Add custom connector, Claude’s help pages explain which Claude plans include it.

What Claude can do in SurveyRock

  • Build a survey with all its questions in one go. It can use 11 question types: text, multiple choice, rating scale, matrix, slider, NPS, yes/no, email, date, ranking and file upload.
  • Change it. Add questions at the end of a survey or a page, edit them, or remove them. A question people already answered is retired, and its answers stay in your results.
  • Check it and publish it. Claude can ask SurveyRock whether a survey is ready, and what’s stopping it if not.
  • Share it. Make a web link, a QR code or a website embed, and pause or restart it.
  • Read what came back. List the responses, see how many people answered each question, and export the answers to CSV, Excel or SPSS.
  • Work with contacts. Look people up in your contacts, or add someone.

What it can’t do, on purpose

  • It can’t delete a survey. No connected app or API key can. Deleting stays with you, in SurveyRock.
  • It can’t switch a survey off or hide it from you. To stop responses, it pauses the survey’s link.
  • It can’t touch billing, team members or workspace settings.
  • It never gets your respondents’ email addresses, their IP addresses, or answers you marked as sensitive. Your contact list is different: if you’ve added contacts, Claude can read them, email addresses included.
  • It stays in its lane. It works only in the one workspace you picked, and only as far as you could yourself.

What it can’t do yet

Claude can’t yet put a question in the middle of a page, move a question, or make a dropdown question. It can’t use SurveyRock’s own AI features (like themes and summaries), workflows, email campaigns, templates or images. For those, open SurveyRock.

How to disconnect

In SurveyRock, open your account menu and choose Connected apps. You’ll see every app you’ve connected, the workspace each one uses and when it was last used. Click Disconnect and it stops working right away. (Disconnecting inside Claude stops Claude using it, but the connection stays listed here until you disconnect it on this page.)

Which plans

Every plan, Free included. Claude can make at least 1,000 requests a day for you. Your plan’s limits still apply, such as how many questions a survey can have. (If you want to call our API from your own code, that’s on Solo and up.)
