Getting Started
SurveyRock takes you from a blank page to analyzed results in four steps: build, publish, distribute, and analyze. This page is a short tour of each — the linked sections go deeper on every one.
1. Create your workspace
Section titled “1. Create your workspace”Signing up creates your first workspace — the container for your surveys, contacts, and team. Workspace counts, staff seats, and (for agencies) client seats scale by plan tier — see Account & Billing.
2. Build a survey
Section titled “2. Build a survey”The survey builder is drag-and-drop — no technical knowledge required. Choose one of three display formats (classic paged, chat, or single-page), pick from 21 question types, and add skip logic, branching, or piping if the survey needs it. Templates and folders help you start from something close to what you need instead of a blank canvas. See Survey Builder.
3. Publish and distribute
Section titled “3. Publish and distribute”Once a survey is ready, publish it and choose how respondents reach it: a shareable web link, a QR code, an embed code for your own site, an email campaign, or a Slack/Teams post. Scheduling, password protection, and custom domains are available on higher tiers. See Distributions.
4. Read and export results
Section titled “4. Read and export results”Responses land in a live dashboard with summaries, charts, and filtering. Depending on plan, you get crosstabs, trend analysis, text analysis of open-ended answers, and exports to CSV, Excel, SPSS, Word, or PowerPoint. See Results & Analysis.
Building with the API
Section titled “Building with the API”Everything above is also reachable programmatically — surveys, distribution, contacts, and exports all have REST endpoints, and the reference is generated straight from the live API. See Developers if you’re integrating rather than clicking through the UI.
Connecting other tools
Section titled “Connecting other tools”SurveyRock posts to Slack and Microsoft Teams, and workflow automations can push data to Google Sheets, Zendesk, or Freshdesk, or call your own webhook. See Integrations.
