Distributions

Once a survey is published, a distributor controls how respondents reach it. A survey can have more than one distributor active at once — a web link and an email campaign running in parallel, for example — and each is tracked separately in your results.

  • Web link — a shareable URL for the survey; branded custom slugs are available on higher tiers
  • QR code — generated automatically for any distributor, for print or in-person use
  • Embed code — an iframe/widget snippet to drop a survey directly into your own site
  • Email campaigns — send invitations and reminders and track opens/completions directly from SurveyRock; custom email templates and recurring campaigns are available on higher tiers
  • Social sharing — share a distributor link directly to social platforms
  • Slack and Microsoft Teams — post a survey link into a channel or DM

Not yet available: SMS and WhatsApp distribution are on the roadmap but not shippable today.

  • Scheduling — open and close a distributor automatically on a schedule
  • Password protection — require a password before a respondent can start
  • IP restriction — limit who can respond by IP range
  • Custom domains — serve a distributor from your own domain instead of a SurveyRock one, with automated DNS verification and SSL

Web links and QR codes work for almost any use case. Reach for email campaigns when you already have a contact list and want built-in tracking; reach for embeds when the survey should live inside a page you control. See Results & Analysis for how responses break down by distributor.
