        "rendered": "<p>HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability &amp; Accountability Act) is a United States law that provides&nbsp;a data privacy&nbsp;and security plan for keeping  patients&#8217; personal or protected health information (<a href=\"https:\/\/searchhealthit.techtarget.com\/definition\/personal-health-information\">PHI<\/a>) safe.  SurveyRock <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveyrock.com\/blog\/enterprise-account-plan-customization-and-personalization\/\">Enterprise<\/a> plan holders can secure their accounts to fulfill HIPAA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/phlp\/publications\/topic\/hipaa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>With HIPAA enabled on your account, you can safely distribute medical or health related surveys, secure in the knowledge that the patient data is protected. We will send you a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/hipaa\/for-professionals\/privacy\/guidance\/business-associates\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">business associate<\/a> agreement (BAA) to sign and return to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation contains several sections, including one related to security.  After your account has been HIPAA enabled, each of these technical safeguards will be in effect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Network encryption \u2013 Encrypt any electronic PHI to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/csrc.nist.gov\/Projects\/cryptographic-standards-and-guidelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIST cryptographic standards<\/a> any time it is transmitted over an external network.<\/li><li>Control access \u2013 Each user is assigned a centrally-controlled unique username and password to access the systems.<\/li><li>Control activity audits \u2013 We offer detailed logging to track all PHI access attempts and to monitor how PHI data is manipulated.<\/li><li>Enable automatic logoff \u2013 Users must be logged out after a certain set time-frame.
